Every year on the last day of September, National Women’s Health and Fitness Day is observed. This observance strives to bring attention to the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness and is the largest day for women of all ages to celebrate their health.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Ovarian cancer is the second most common gynecologic cancer in the U.S. and can be difficult to detect. Early diagnosis and treatment are incredibly important with all cancer, but especially ovarian cancer, as it’s often misdiagnosed due to its symptoms.
September is National Food Safety Education Month, making it the perfect time for a refresh on how to keep your food safe!
Every year on September 10, World Suicide Prevention Day is commemorated. This day symbolizes a worldwide effort to raise awareness about suicide prevention and reflects the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address the growing rate of suicide.
The month of August is Gastroparesis Awareness Month, sponsored by the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD). August is aimed at “focusing attention on important health messages about gastroparesis diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life issues.”
May is National High Blood Pressure Education Month, and we’d like to take this opportunity to talk about some of the basics of high blood pressure, including how you prevent it and a few methods of treatment.
International No Diet Day exists to serve as a reminder, to stop obsessing over the scale and focus on creating a healthy, loving relationship with the most important person in your life: YOU.
May is Older Americans Month in the United States. The theme for this year’s observance, led by the Administration for Community Living, is “Communities of Strength.” In the spirit of this year’s theme, we’re here to talk about a few stereotypes older people often encounter.
April 14 th is National Moment of Laughter Day, a day to remind us that having laughter in our lives is an integral part of the human experience. Besides feeling great and signaling our happiness, a good laugh can do more for our bodies than you might expect.
