Is health sharing right for you and your family?

Health sharing offers a unique approach to managing medical expenses, but it’s important to understand how it works and whether it aligns with your needs and values. Here are a few key aspects to consider:

You make contributions instead of paying premiums.

Sharing programs are not contractually obligated to share medical expenses. Whether other members choose to assist you with your medical bills will always be voluntary, because members are not obligated to share and will not be compelled by law to contribute toward your medical bills.

number 2 icon blue

You share because of beliefs.

Sharing programs are built on shared ethical, spiritual, and religious beliefs, and the traditions of community aid, neighborly assistance, healthy lifestyles, and the sharing of burdens. They provide a way to share medical expenses among members. Sharing ministries, which are not-for-profit, differ from insurance companies, and their sharing guidelines are not insurance policies.

You accept responsibility for your health.

Sharing programs invite people with healthy habits and lifestyles and do not share expenses resulting from certain behaviors and lifestyle choices that are commonly recognized to be detrimental to personal health. The best way to reduce medical costs it to stay healthy, which is why Universal HealthShare includes sharing for eligible wellness and preventive care services.

You accept financial responsibility.

There are no contracts with health sharing. So, regardless of whether you receive any sharing for medical expenses, you are always personally responsible for the payment of your own medical bills.

You agree to the program Guidelines.

By participating in a Program, you accept the Sharing Guidelines, and you recognize and acknowledge Universal Health Fellowship as the final authority for the interpretation and application of the Sharing Guidelines.
