Health care prices and deductibles are rising faster than our income, and traditional health insurance products are offered by huge business interests under a complex web of rules and regulations. The results are clear: many traditional health insurance programs are too expensive for many Americans, leaving them either uninsured or underinsured.
Sharing programs from religious ministries have been around for more than 30 years. Today, sharing has evolved through the growth of health care cost-sharing ministries. Over 1.5 American families and individuals are sharing each other’s medical expenses through such ministry programs.
Universal Health Fellowship was founded to support neighbors helping neighbors through our health and wellness cost-sharing programs. Our Universal HealthShare programs offer a more affordable way for many to achieve better health and wellness.
Universal HealthShare Programs
Universal HealthShare programs offer different levels of sharing and different recommended sharing amounts, but all programs have many basic things in common. Here is a summary of common features of Universal HealthShare.

Program Highlights
- Three sharing programs to meet the needs of most families
- Non-sharable amounts (NSA) as low as $1,500 for individuals and $4,500 for a family
- Immediately shares office visits for primary, urgent and specialty care for a small consultation fee
- Pre-existing conditions are eligible for limited sharing after a waiting period of 12 months and assuming no evidenced symptoms and/or received treatment/medications within the past 36 months. Some conditions require a look back of 48-60 months.
- Any hospital, anywhere in the continental USA. UHS is available in 42 states.
- 30-day waiting period for sharing for most eligible services including in and outpatient services, diagnostics, and therapies.
- Telemedicine is included with no consultation fees from Day One: unlimited 24/7 household use
- Annual physical, wellness visits, and preventive services are eligible for sharing for up to $500 combined annually, with a 30-day waiting period
- Pharmacy Discount programs through Blink Health®, GoodRx®and others
- Chiropractic care, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy are all sharable with 30-day waiting periods
What Sharing Programs Cost
Universal HealthShare programs can be up to 40% less than traditional insurance programs. With three programs to choose from, the costs vary depending on your choice.
You have access to programs that have Non-Sharable Amounts (NSA) for individuals ranging from $1,500 to $6,000, and sharable inpatient eligible hospital medical expenses that share from 60% to 80%. This means members choosing our UHS2 program limit their out of pocket hospital expenses to 20% once their NSA is satisfied. (A Non-Sharable Amount or NSA is the amount of medical expenses that must be paid before medical expenses can be eligible for sharing.)
Here’s an example:
A family of three with two adults ages 35 and 32, with a small child age five, can expect a monthly sharing level of $595 for our UHS2 program ($4,500 NSA with 80% hospital sharing).
There is a $75 non-refundable application fee required of all who apply for membership, and all participating members must pay a monthly membership fee of $15 per household.
