About Us
Universal Health Fellowship
Universal Health Fellowship is a non-profit health care sharing ministry that coordinates voluntary contributions for the sharing of eligible health care costs among program members united by their faith in the ethical, moral and spiritual principles and traditions of the Unitarian Universalist (“UU”) Church.
Our Sharing Plans
Universal HealthShare programs are faith based with a goal of providing a way for community members to share each other’s health expense burdens and support each other towards better wellness. Members share one another’s qualifying medical expenses, and Universal HealthShare programs coordinate this sharing.
Better Lifestyles through Better Choices
In light of the principles that guide Universal HealthShare and our mission of encouraging healthy lifestyles, Universal HealthShare programs do not share expenses from behaviors and lifestyle choices that are commonly recognized to be detrimental to personal health. They have been designed for individuals and families who appreciate and respect good health and are committed to helping themselves and others stay healthy.
Your Participation
Our programs are open to individuals who share the common faith and principles of Universal Health Fellowship, believe in the importance of maintaining personal health and wellness, and commit themselves to developing and living healthy lifestyles for the good of the sharing community.
Our Faith and Principles
Members of our sharing programs are required to subscribe to our Statement of Shared Faith and Beliefs, which are inspired by the Seven Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Church. For more, read Our Statement of Shared Faith and Beliefs.
How Contribution Shortfalls are Handled
If medical needs exceed available funds in a particular month, the program will pro rate sharing among members with eligible needs that month and hold back the balance of those needs to be shared in the following month(s). If a shortfall are reoccurring, the amount of the suggested monthly share contribution for members may be increased on a temporary or ongoing basis.
